South Meadows Neighborhood Watch

Formed June 2010

A group of concerned and caring neighbors have established a South Meadows Neighborhood Watch.  The Watch is a way for neighbors and residents of South Meadows to become a unified community to help one another and prevent criminal or unruly activities.  The main idea behind a neighborhood watch, after all, is to be a good neighbor.

By working together, we can move towards becoming a safe neighborhood.  Safe doesn't just mean against crime and suspicious activities, but also includes neighbors looking out for one another as well as extending care and pride where they live.

The Watch would reach into the entire community and help residents with fire and police efforts.  The Neighborhood Watch would like each street to have at least two active volunteers to alert residents on their street of any pertinent safety information.

With the economy offering opportunities for people to be income creative, theft has risen in communities all across the county.  Please take additional steps to protect your personal property and watch over the community.

  1. Keep belongings secured in a locked shed, garage, closet, etc.
  2. Keep belongings out of sight
  3. Keep your garage door shut
  4. Lock your vehicles at night
  5. Lock your doors on your home
  6. Get to know you neighbors …let’s watch after each other

Household Garbage Disposal

A friendly reminder that it is required that household trash must be disposed of properly.  We have listed a couple of options.

Tyler Sanitation (648-6714) provides road-side collection to South Meadows Tuesday mornings for a fee. This is for basic household trash.

The Aiken County New Ellenton Collection site is free.  This is an all inclusive collection site from recycling, chemicals, construction to household trash.
